About the Job
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, modification, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial plant and facility projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Electrical designers, and multidisciplinary design teams to produce detailed electrical drawings and construction documentation that meet client specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, and company drafting standards.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining electrical design deliverables such as single-line diagrams, panelboard layouts, conduit and cable tray routing plans, cable schedules, conduit block diagrams, and interconnection drawings. The Electrical Designer utilizes AutoCAD and related design tools to create accurate and constructible design packages while ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
The position also involves coordinating with engineers, vendors, contractors, and other design disciplines to ensure designs are technically sound, integrated, and up to date throughout the project lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include reviewing vendor drawings and technical documentation, conducting field surveys and site visits to verify existing conditions, and supporting project execution through effective communication and problem solving.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, power, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable industry standards.
  • Ability to review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, vendor documentation, and technical reports.
  • Proficiency with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
