About the Job
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and install UPW piping systems, including PVC, PP, and stainless-steel components, valves, and fittings.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings to determine piping layout and assembly requirements.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Perform clean assembly practices required for high-purity water systems (e.g., contamination control, proper handling of materials).
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipe components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Fabricate piping assemblies using methods such as welding, solvent bonding, or mechanical connections as required.
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping issues, leaks, or misalignments in assembled systems.
  • Conduct pressure and leak testing to verify system integrity and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate.
  • Trade school certification, plumbing/pipefitting apprenticeship, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • 1–5+ years of experience in: Industrial piping or plumbing, Mechanical assembly or fabrication, Water treatment or process piping systems (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret: Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Assembly drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience working with high-purity piping materials (PVC, PP, stainless steel) .
  • Knowledge of pipe fabrication techniques: Cutting, threading, bending, fitting.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards and installation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with UPW or high-purity water systems.
  • Stainless steel tubing and hygienic piping experience.
  • Welding or plastic fusion (PP/PVDF) experience.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation (flow meters, sensors, valves, VFD-driven pumps).
  • Experience supporting field installation or service work.
