The project engineer is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of a construction project, ensuring it’s completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards by managing resources, coordinating with contractors, monitoring progress, solving on-site problems, and documenting project details through the construction process. The project engineer typically provides general administrative support to projects, under the direction of a more experienced project management professional.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity and in a timely manner
- Create and manage contracts and SOWs (discuss process and streamline)
- Support submittal process
- In charge of close out manuals and warranty books
- Make sure all contracts, SOWs, COIs, etc. are being turned around in a timely fashion
- Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants (architects, engineers, owner’s reps) efficiently
- Participate in weekly updates with directors of operations on PM status log
- Track and update job cost files with contract and PO status
- Follows up with project managers on missing requirements from them and the subcontractors
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent
- 0-2 years’ experience in commercial construction and restaurant projects
- Excellent communication skills
